Universal Orlando has unleashed details on Dark Universe, one of five themed lands coming to the new Epic Universe theme park in 2025.

The land will pull inspiration from Universal’s collection of classic monster stories and feature two attractions, dinning options, character meet-and-greets and more.

Set in the village of Darkmoor, Dark Universe will feature what Universal is describing as its “most chilling ride ever:” a dark ride named Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

The ride will be located inside Frankenstein Manor, where visitors will encounter Dr. Victoria Frankenstein who unleashes monsters after her experiments go horribly wrong. Riders will then have to escape from characters like The Mummy, The Wolf Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Curse of the Werewolf, the other attraction featured in Dark Universe, will be a spinning family coaster inspired by “The Wolf Man.” Set in the woods at the edge of Darkmoor, the coaster will find riders racing to escape “werewolves before they become one themselves.”

Visitors will also be able to meet monsters like Dr. Frankenstein’s monster and the Bride of Frankenstein at character meet-and-greet spot. They might also encounter monsters like The Invisible Man roaming through the village.

The land will also offer visitors a chance to become a monster themselves at the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience, where artisans will use face paint and temporary tattoos to make the transformation.

Dark Universe will also have a number of dining options. Das Stakehaus, described as a food hall run by “vampire familiars,” will feature a menu of kebabs, burgers and sandwiches. Over at the Burning Blade Tavern, a hangout for monster hunters, burgers, wings, bratwurst and pretzels will be on the menu.

There will also be a food stand named De Lacy’s Cottage serving snacks like cinammon bread and twisted taters. For monster-themed merchandise, visitors can head to Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities.

Dark Universe is just one of the themed lands that will be inside Epic Universe. Universal previously revealed details for Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Super Nintendo World. Universal has not yet released details for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

An Epic Universe Preview Center recently opened up at Universal CityWalk and it includes a detailed model of the upcoming park.

Epic Universe is set to open in 2025.
