Universal Studios Hollywood will bring together fandoms across sci-fi, fantasy and anime with the new after-hours event it’s debuting this spring.
On Wednesday, Universal unveiled new details about Universal Fan Fest Nights, which will run select nights between April 25 and May 18.
The event will be similar to Halloween Horror Nights, but instead of experiences based on horror movies, there will be activities based on “Back to the Future,” Dungeons & Dragons, “Star Trek,” “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “One Piece.”
Super Nintendo World and The Wizrding World of Harry Potter will also get new additions just for the event.
Fan zones, character meet-and-greets, walk-through experiences, themed food and more will be offered during the event.
All of the themed experiences will be offered each night of the event. Here’s what to expect.
STAR TREK: RED ALERT
Trekkies will likely want to make a beeline for “Star Trek: Red Alert.” This walk-through attraction will put visitors aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise from “Star Trek: Picard” for a mission to prevent an interstellar threat.
They will travel to different parts of the ship, including the engineering room and transporter pads while encountering performers. The experience will come to life through audio-visual effects, special effects and interactive elements.
BACK TO THE FUTURE: DESTINATION HILL VALLEY
Based on the 1985’s “Back to the Future,” this experience will take visitors back in time. The Studio Tour tram will transport them to Courthouse Square set, which has been transformed into 1955 Hill Valley, where they can attend the Enchantment Under the Sea dance or see lightning strike the Clock Tower several times each night.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: SECRETS OF WATERDEEP
This walkthrough experience will put fans in the world of the popular roleplaying game. They will join the Harpers spy network to help save the city of Waterdeep from Xanathar, the beholder.
Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is creating a large puppet version of Xanathar for the experience.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: HUNGER OF THE CURSED
The “Jujutsu Kaisen” film experience from Universal Studios Japan will bring the world of the anime to life during Fan Fest.
ONE PIECE: GRAND PIRATE GATHERING
The “One Piece” experience will feature meet-and-greets and interactive photo ops with Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew, including Sanji, Usopp, Nami and Zoro.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: LET’S GO YOSHI!
A new Yoshi character meet-and-greet debut in the land during the event. Visitors will also able to participate in a scavenger hunt to find five colorful Yoshi eggs. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be able to meet a different colored Yoshi.
There will also be a themed drone show during the event.
THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER
Over at the Wizarding World, magical creatures such as a Niffler, a baby dragon and a Occamy will make appearances.
The land will also offer the “Hogwarts Always” projection show during the event.
Select attractions will be open during Fan Fest, including Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Revenge of the Mummy, Jurassic World: The Ride and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
Tickets for Fan Fest Nights are now on sale. General admission starts at $74. Other ticket options include Express, Express Unlimited, multi-night and a VIP tour that starts at $373.
