Universal Orlando has shared a first look inside Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry—a new thrill ride opening at its Epic Universe theme park in May 2025.
The ride will be the main attraction inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Ministry of Magic, one of the five themed lands that will be part of the new park.
The new images released Tuesday reveal more details about the different areas of the London-set Ministry that visitors will encounter inside the attraction, including the atrium and Dolores Umbridge’s office and other departments.
Visitors will enter the full-scale replica of the Ministry via the Metro-Floo, which will transport them to 1990s to witness Umbridge’s trial.
The large, ornate atrium looks like it’s straight out of one of the Harry Potter films. Visitors will also go inside Umbridge’s office which is decorated in pink. That’s also where visitors will meet Higgledy, Umbridge’s former house-elf.
Universal also revealed a first look at the ride vehicle, which will be an omnidirectional lift that can seat up to 14 riders at a time.
Visitors will board these lifts as they join Harry, Ron and Hermione for a chase that will take them up, down, backward, forward and sideways through the Ministry.
Universal says the new attraction will blend “detailed environments, powerful storytelling and unprecedented ride technology.”
Ministry of Magic will be the third Harry Potter land at Universal Orlando, following Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. It be one of the lands at Epic Universe along with Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe and Celestial Park.
The new park officially opens May 22, 2025.
