Universal has announced an opening date for Horror Unleashed, its highly-anticipated, year-round horror experience in Las Vegas.
The new haunt attraction will open to the public on Aug. 14 at Vegas’ Area15 District. Spanning 100,000 square feet, the attraction four themed haunted houses: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, The Exorcist: Believer and Universal Monsters.
A video released by Universal on Wednesday featured new concept art of the experience as well as sound bites from members of the team who have worked on Universal’s popular Halloween Horror Nights event.
The attraction will be designed to look like a “darkened warehouse” where creatures lurk around every corner. In addition to the four haunt areas, the experience will also include themed bars, live entertainment and shopping.
Tickets are now on sale. Options include a ticket that provides one-time access to each of the four haunted houses. Prices start at $69. A ticket that includes unlimited access to the houses starts at $99. Nevada residents can get discounted tickets.
Horror Unleashed is part of Universal’s push to offer new experiences in new locations. The company is also building Universal Kids, a kid-centric park in Frisco, Texas. It’s expected to open next year.
