Universal Orlando is ready to debut the first of three new hotels it’s built for its new Epic Universe theme park. Stella Nova, the 750-room, space-inspired hotel opens on Tuesday.
The hotel’s cosmic connection are reflected, literally and figuratively, in the shiny, colorful tiles on its exterior. The tiles, all 140,000 of them are made of stainless steel and will appear a different color depending on where you stand.
At night, the added lights create an even shiner effect.
Before entering the hotel, guests will pass under a large canopy that resembles a space ship. Universal refers to it as a black hole
Inside the hotel, the space theme continues, noticeably in the decor and design. The lobby features many curved walls and fixtures. Universal also incorporated space photos from NASA in the lobby as well as the guest rooms.
Each of the guest rooms include two queen beds, a mini-fridge, TV and a spaceship-style window. Some of the rooms offer a view of the pool, while others offer a view of Epic Universe.
The hotel also offers multiple dining options—all space-themed, of course. There’s the Nova bar in the lobby serving cosmic cocktails. For quick meals, guests can stop by Cosmos Cafe and Market. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The market has grab-and-go items.
There’s also the Galaxy bar and grill by the pool deck, which also features a pool, splash pad, fire pit and lounge chairs.
Stella Nova’s close proximity to Epic Universe will allow guests to access the new park either by a walking path or one of the free resort shuttles.
Universal‘s hotels are categorized into three tiers—Signature Collection, Prime Value and Value Inns and Suites. Stella Nova—and the upcoming Terra Luna—is part of the Prime Value category, joining Aventura Hotel.
Stella Nova is Universal’s ninth hotel. In March, it will be joined by the adjacent Terra Luna Resort which will also have 750 rooms.
The final hotel Universal plans to debut this year is the Helios Grand. It will open on May 22 along with Epic Universe.
