Universal Orlando has changed the name of the one of the new roller coasters set to open with its upcoming Epic Universe theme park next year.

Starfall Racers, a dual-launch coaster located in the Celestial Park section of the park, has been renamed Stardust Racers. The change comes after Starfall Education Foundation filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Universal City Studios earlier this month.

In the complaint, Starfall Education, a nonprofit based in Colorado, said Universal’s use of the name would “misappropriate” the trademark of the Starfall brand.

Prior to the lawsuit, Universal had filed a trademark application for Stardust Racers, which has now become the coaster’s new name. Universal quietly removed all references of Starfall Racers from its official website

Stardust Racers is manufactured by Mack Rides and will reach a top speed of 62 mph and heights of up to 133 feet. It will also feature an inverted criss-coss maneuver Universal has labeled as a “celestial spin.”

Epic Universe will feature five themed worlds, including Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe and the aforementioned Celestial Park.

The new park is slated to open to the public in 2025.
