The Sea Life Florida aquarium at Legoland Florida will open to the public on May 23, the Winter Haven resort announced Thursday.
The new aquarium will include 25 interactive exhibits and a 150,000-gallon ocean habitat with a fresh water gallery, a stingray bay and a invertebrate touch pool.
The main ocean display will feature a “Theme Park Under the Sea” theme, with coral and hideaways designed to look like castles and carousels.
Sea Life Florida will be home to more than 3,000 marine animals, including blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, big-belly seahorses and more.
Legoland Florida says passholders will get exclusive early access to Sea Life Florida.

To coincide with the opening of the aquarium, Legoland Florida will switch to recyclable bags on May 23. The movie is part of an continued effort at the resort to reduce single-use plastic.
Ahead of the aquarium’s grand opening, Legoland will have a daily scavenger hunt where visitors can search for Lego marine animals hidden throughout Fun Town. The scavenger hunt will take place Feb. 22-March 9 during regular park hours.
Visitors can pick up a scavenger hunt handout at the Factory Store. After finding all four Lego creatures, visitors can return their handout to receive a reusable Sea Life woven bag.
Merlin Entertainments, owner of Legoland Florida, also operates Sea Life. The new aquarium will be the second Sea Life location in Florida. Another one is located at ICON Park in Orlando.
