Universal Orlando’s upcoming theme park, Epic Universe, will feature five themed lands, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Ministry of Magic.
The main attraction in land will be Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, which Universal is bill as one of its most impressive to date. The ride will take visitors inside the ministry where Dolores Umbridge is about to stand trial. When Umbridge tries to escape visitors will join Harry and his friends on a thrilling chase through the ministry on omnidirectional lifts as they encounter Death Eaters and other creatures.
On Saturday, in celebration of Back to Hogwarts, Universal and Warner Bros. shared a new video that revealed new details about the next Harry Potter ride.
The experience will start at the Metro-Floo, which will transport visitors from 1920s Paris (inspired by the “Fantastic Beasts” films) to the British Ministry of Magic. Visitors will enter the ministry’s grand lobby with weather ceilings, flying memos and a restored Fountain of Magical Brethren statue.
“The scale and detail of this ride is truly epic,” said Peter van Roden, senior vice president of global themed entertainment at Warner Bros. Discovery. “I think it’s going to be one of the great rides in the world.”
The video also provided a glimpse at the ride’s queue. Visitors will be taken through different areas of the ministry including the Hall of Ministers, with portraits of past ministers interacting with each other; a Map Room, with a moving map of the ministry; and the Aurors’ headquarters.
Visitors will also be taken through Dolores Umbridge’s office, where they will meet Higgledy, Umbridge’s former house elf.
Dame Imelda Staunton, who played the character is the Harry Potter films, will be reprising her role for the new attraction. Warner Bros. shared a few clips of Staunton in character.
The new Wizarding World land will also feature restaurants, a wand shop, and a live show called Le Cirque Arcanus.
Epic Universe will also include Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Celestial Park. It’s set to open in 2025.
