Another Magic Kingdom opening day attraction is closing at Disney World.

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, the Wild West-themed electronic  shooting gallery, will close this month to make way for a new Disney Vacation Club members lounge. The arcade’s last day of operation will be June 23.

The DVC lounge will feature decor inspired by “the bygone era of exploration and adventure,” according to news release. Construction is set to begin this year, but an opening timeline has not been announced.

Back in January, Disney announced that a new DVC lounge would be built at Disney World, but at the time, the resort didn’t share a specific location.

The new lounge will the first DVC lounge at Magic Kingdom and the third at the resort. Currently, there are lounges at the Imagination! Pavilion at EPCOT and at Top of the World Lounge at the Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower.

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade has been in operation since 1971. It features a southwestern desert backdrop with nearly 100 targets such as tombstones and signs for visitors to take aim with infrared rifles. When the attraction first opened it was pay-per-play, but in 2021 it has operated free of charge.

The arcade’s closure comes amid other changes in Frontierland. Country Bear Jamboree will reopen as Country Bear Musical Jamboree on July 17. The singing-bears attraction has been reimagined with show inspired by classic musical revues in Nashville.

And just up the way, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a revamp of Splash Mountain, will open to the public on June 28.
