It’s Tough to be a Bug, a 3D show based on the 1998 Pixar film “A Bug’s Life,” will close permanently next month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The show will have its final day on March 16, according to an update on the Disney World website. It will be replaced with a new show called “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!,” which is set to debut winter 2025.
Disney first revealed plans for a “Zootopia” show at Destination D23 in 2023. At D23 last year, the company announced the name of the show and it’s location as the Tree of Life.
“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will feature Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and other characters from the film.
On Monday, Disney shared a behind-the-scenes video of Ginnifer Goodwin, who voices Judy Hopps, recording audio for the upcoming attraction.
It’s Tough to be a Bug opened with Animal Kingdom in 1998. Located in the Tree of Life, the attraction features characters from the movie putting on a show about insects with animatronics, special effects and a few other surprises.
It’s one of several attractions closing at Animal Kingdom. In January, Disney closed part of DinoLand U.S.A. in preparation for the new Tropical Americas land.
