For the first time since 2019, both of Disney World’s water parks—Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be open to visitors at the same time.
Both water parks will be in operation this summer from May 21 through Sept. 7, Disney World announced Tuesday, noting in its announcement that the news was not an April Fools’ Day joke.
Blizzard Beach, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, is currently open. It will temporarily close May 1 for maintenance before reopening on May 21. Typhoon Lagoon, which is currently closed for its annual refurbishment, will open May 1 and remain open for the season.
It’s been five years since both water parks have operated at the same time. In the years since the pandemic, Disney has alternated the opening of its water parks—with only one open at a time while the other was closed for refurbishment.
Disney recently announced the return of H2O Glow, an after-hours event at Typhoon Lagoon. The event will run select nights starting May 23. Tickets go on sale April 4.
Earlier this year, Disney began offering free water park entry to resort hotel guests on their check-in date. With this news, guests will have more than one option this summer.
