Universal Studios Florida has debuted its new daytime parade, Universal Mega Movie Parade, which celebrates films tied to the park’s preset and past.

The parade had its first public run on Wednesday after a brief weather delay. It was originally set to make its official debut Wednesday, but Universal says the parade is in “technical rehearsal” mode.

The 20-minute show features several large, elaborate floats themed to popular movies, including “Back to the Future, “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Trolls,” “Despicable Me,” “Jaws,” “Ghostbusters” and “Jurassic World.”

Each float featured characters, some of them costumed live actors, as well as music. In between each float, there were other performers such as dancers, skaters and stilt walkers.

The “Ghostbusters” float featured a live Gozer, Ghostbusters with proton packs and a 16-foot-tall Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The “Jaws” float featured a large shark and a costumed Quint character. For the finale, Universal saved the “Jurassic World” float, which was topped by a large T. rex puppet that roared.

In its initial announcement, Universal said the parade would feature 13 new floats. On Wednesday, only 9 floats were featured. Universal hasn’t said if more floats will be added.

Universal Mega Movie Parade will run select nights through Nov. 14, weather permitting.

It joins a summer lineup at the park that includes DreamWorks Land, the new “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular” nighttime show and the movie-centric summer Tribute Store.
