Penguin Trek, SeaWorld Orlando’s newest roller coaster, will officially open on July 7, the theme park announced Thursday.

The indoor-outdoor launch coaster is located in the reimagined Antarctica Realm area of the park. It features ride vehicles designed to look like snowmobiles, taking riders across more than 3,000 feet of track and reaching a top speed of 43 mph.

Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the coaster will take riders on a research mission through the Antarctica wilderness. At the end, visitors can see real penguins in the park’s habitat.

Penguin Trek is being touted as a family coaster and will have a minimum height requirement of 42 inches.

SeaWorld pass members will get early access to the new coaster. Previews will begin July 2, with pass members getting special ride times.

With Penguin Trek, SeaWorld Orlando will be home to eight coasters, joining Pipeline: The Surf Coaster, Ice Breaker, Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, Kraken, Mako, Manta and Journey to Atlantis.

SeaWorld has been testing Penguin Trek regularly for weeks. During a recent visit to the park, the coaster was spotted doing runs. The coaster was previously set to open in the spring.
