“A Quiet Place” haunted house will be part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, the company announced Thursday.
The house will bring the world of “A Quiet Place” and “A Quiet Place Part II” to life. Directed by John Krasinski, the movies follow the Abbott family as they try to evade sightless creatures that use their sharp sense of hearing to find their prey.
The HHN house will take visitors through scenes and settings from the movies, including the family’s farmhouse and the root cellar. “The snarls of the larger-than-life predators will follow guests at every spine-chilling turn, and guests must remember: if they hear you, they will hunt you,” according to a news release.
Universal says the house will use special effects and a unique sound design to “capture the authenticity of the films.” It will also be the first Halloween Horror Nights house to incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) as part of the storyline.
The house will be featured at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Universal’s announcement comes a few weeks before the release of “A Quiet Place: Day One” in theaters on June 28. The movie is a prequel set during the first day of the invasion.
“A Quiet Place” is the first house announced for this year’s event that’s based on an intellectual property. So far, Universal has revealed six other houses—all original concepts: Slaughter Sinema 2, Goblin’s Feast, Major Sweets Candy Factory, The Museum: Deadly Exhibit, Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America and Triplets of Terror.
The event will feature a total of 10 houses and five scare zones. The remaining ones will be announced in the coming weeks.
Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights Aug. 30 through Nov. 3 at Universal Studios Florida and from Sept. 5 through Nov. 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Universal Orlando, for the first time, will offer a Premium Scream Night on Aug. 29. The limited-capacity event will include access to all the houses and scare zones, select food and drink and a souvenir lanyard.
