Volcano Bay to end use of TapuTapu, virtual lines

Universal's Volcano Bay water park. (Universal)

Volcano Bay will end the use of TapuTapu, its wearable device, this fall, Universal Orlando announced Tuesday.

The wristbands and the virtual lines will no longer be available at the water park  starting October 1.

The waterproof TapuTapu devices are complimentary to park visitors. They are used to reserve place line at attractions through virtual lines and to access lockers.

With the change, visitors will be able to access attractions “at their leisure,” according to Universal.

Volcano Bay will also be closed for five months starting October 26. The closure will allow to perform refurbishments and maintenance on areas throughout the park. The reopening is currently planned for on or before March 24, 2027.
