Disney Cruise Line has shared concept art for the Disney Imagination Garden, one of the themed areas on its upcoming Disney Adventure cruise ship.
The ship, which was previously known as the Global Dream before Disney acquired it, will sail out of Singapore in 2025. It will be the largest ship in Disney’s fleet at 208,000 gross tons.
“The size and scale of this space provided us with so many opportunities to dream big and try new things with our experiential design, creating first-of-a-kind experiences for our guests, from all-new entertainment to delicious dining and lots of magical surprises sprinkled throughout,” said Laura Cabo, portfolio executive creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering in a news release.
As the ship’s central hub, the Disney Imagination Garden will be designed to look like the pages from a classic pop-up storybook. The landscaping will be styled like paper cut-outs, according to Disney. There will also be topiaries—including one of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey—trellises and lanterns.
One one of end of the garden will be large castle artwork. On the other end will be the Garden Stage, which will feature live entertainment including the stunt show “Avengers Assemble,” which will mark Deadpool’s Disney Cruise Line debut.
An open lawn area will be located in front of the stage and lead to a grand staircase that will also feature amphitheater-style seating.
Disney Imagination Garden will also include two quick-service restaurants serving cuisine inspired by “The Jungle Book” and “Moana.”
Mowgli’s Eatery will offer Indian food with a “Disney twist.” The restaurant will feature decor inspired by early concept art from the animated film and regional influences. With decor inspired by the Pacific Islands, Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will feature a menu of flavors from around the Pacific and Asia. Both restaurants will offer indoor and outdoor seating.
Disney Adventure will also featured staterooms that offer a view overlooking the Disney Imagination Garden.
The ship will feature six other themed areas: Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Marvel Landing and Toy Story Place. Disney plans to reveal more details about those in the coming months.
